Joel's home and WE are leaving

Sunday could not of come quick enough for me.  2 weeks was a long time for Joel to be gone, have unpredictable communication, having him be 8 hours ahead and me just missing him horribly.

I picked him up from the airport and he came home a lot lighter than when he left.  His two suitcases got left in Africa.  One came last night at 10:30 and the other sometime today.

We had steak, twice baked potatoes, asparagus, dinner rolls and cherry pie.  He said that was his first substantial meal in two weeks.  We sat around the table and listened to his many many stories and enjoyed his many pictures.   He took a shower (last one was Saturday a.m.) and went to bed by 9:30.  That 8 hour difference can be a killer.  He was wide awake by 4 a.m. and so was I and he talked for two hours about so many things.  We are so blessed to live where we do.

He has a few days to recoup and we are off on Thursday.  He has a conference in the Dells on Thursday and Friday.  Friday afternoon we leave together for AZ.  Can hardly wait.  Yes, he will have work to do, his company is paying my way, visiting people, preaching in Phoenix this weekend and somewhere in CA next weekend.  We will hit a couple of Brewer games and just enjoy time together.

So people I am looking forward to leaving these Arctic temps and wind chills that are headed are way again.  Kurt and Phil each got a list last night with their chores or duties.  Meals are made for them and they are good to go.  They fight like brothers sometimes but tell us when it is just the two of them they get along real well.  Got a text from Phil this morning that he made bacon and hash browns for him and Kurt for breakfast.

I am sure there will be some pictures posted along the way.
