I have no picture today. Seemed like prayers were far more important on this day.
We had some tragedy happen in our church this weekend. We had a husband, father, awesome lay person in our church take his life on Saturday. And from a totally different family a 20 yr old son & brother took his life.
Our congregation has come together along with our Lutheran high school where the boy, the father and the father's sons had gone or are still going. Many phone calls yesterday asking how they can help or just letting us know that they are praying for both families and our 3 pastors who are dealing with this.
Joel posted this bible passage on facebook - "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do no know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himselfs intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will." Romans 8:26-27
In your prayers this week please keep Pastors Haugly, Gaertner and Weigand as they continue to care for these families. And our two families as the deal with their great losses.
Oh my, so sad! We'll be praying!
ReplyDeleteMy prayers are with these families and with everyone touch by these tragedies. May the peace only God can provide be with all.
