friday fragments

I'm joining Mrs. 4444 for Friday Fragments. You can join in here.

**This picture is so true for a week of our Wisconsin weather.  Except Tuesday it was in the 50's and actually had the kitchen window open, Wednesday we got 8 inches of snow and today the wind chill is -25.  This is Wisconsin we get such a nice variety of weather.

**Joel left Sunday night for a conference overnight.  I have never liked being by myself overnight.  One time this summer he was gone for 4 nights.  It was awful!!!  I actually hate to admit this but I called my brother and asked him if he would sleep over.  I bribed him with some good food.

**Made a new recipe on Monday - White Chicken Chili.  I have to say it was not the best thing I ever made.  But then again, you never know until you try it.  Needless to say the recipe is no longer in my kitchen.

**Any Superbowl plans?  We will be staying in the warm house with a Papa Murphy's meat lovers pizza.

**My photo challenge this week was something red.  You can see it below.

**Speaking of Red, are you wearing that color today?  In 2003, the American Heart Association and the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute took action against a disease that was claiming the lives of nearly 500,000 American women each year – a disease that women weren’t paying attention to. A disease they truly believed, and many still believe to this day, affects more men than women.

Stemming from that action, National Wear Red Day was born. It’s held on the first Friday in February every year to raise awareness about heart disease being the No. 1 killer of women.

**I enjoy crocheting baby hats and donating them to the hospital for those new little babies.  Was excited to find a heart pattern.  I made three so far and think they are so cute.  I usually make them with big flowers.  I also found a fun afghan to make.  Claims you can have it done in an hour.  Will see about that.  Any who I never heard of this yarn "Loops and Thread Country Yarn".  I guess the reason I never heard of it is because it is $11.oo a skein and the pattern calls for 11 balls.  I don't think I will ever find out if it takes an hour or not.

Have a great weekend !!

  2. I don't like it when my husband leaves on business trips. Fortunately, that's rare and he's never gone more than 2 nights.

We don't have firm Super Bowl plans yet, but we'll probably stay in and I'll try to talk Hubs into ordering ribs!

Those hats are so incredibly cute!

  3. The heart pattern is so sweet!

I've actually NEVER been bothered to sleep alone in my house (or anyones house) and I feel kinda guilty about that.

  4. Your header always makes me smile. It makes me thing of, well, daily blessings! I saw the cartoon about weather on someone's Facebook page a few days ago, except it said Mississippi. I guess it holds true now for many parts of the US. I have been single for EVER and I rarely think twice about being alone. My sister, though, can't bear it.

  5. Those are mighty cute baby bonnets!

We go over to our friends' home to watch the SB and since I also have to do my nursing home service in the afternoon, I'm ONLY taking Roundy's French Onion Dip and chips from Copps.

    Finish.

  6. I saw that pick as well, except for our state it was "Monday morning, Monday afternoon, Monday Night" and that really was our weather Monday morning to Tuesday morning... Monday we were delayed due to freezing rain and it was 60 degree overnight with the high on Tuesday hitting 75!

Those baby bonnets are precious... would love one for my new neice, but not at that price! YIKES!
